About
Congratulations!
Landing on this page means that you are curious about how I can help, and this makes you the best client of all!
I value all the relationships I have made with my clients, and you are no exception. I value you because I share many of the personal trials that trouble you. Of course, not all because we all have unique experiences. But you came because you have a need, and I have a mind and heart made to match. I love what I do!
What Do You Need?
Is it fear of some kind?
Are you anxious and on edge?
Angry and can’t seem to get over it?
Maybe your marriage is suffering. Or some other relationship.
Maybe something happened to you a very long time ago and you just can’t get over it.
Whatever the problem, you are suffering here and now – more than you should!
There’s Good News:
Suffering in the moment when things should be at peace is the crux of what trauma is, and it is a very treatable, even fixable condition!
In coming to this point, you are likely experiencing confusion between your head and your heart – where your mind says everything should be ok, but your heart still aches. It’s important to heal this before any more of life passes you by.
So why am I so confident that you can get better?
Because I have helped hundreds of people overcome their emotional pain in a short amount of time.
I’ve seen the process, and I know what works.
From the middle-aged man who couldn’t shake his childhood abuse, to the young man who found his deceased friend only the day before, to the couple unable to share intimacy because of the wife’s or husband’s past trauma, the list goes on.
My approach is like many therapists that specialize in trauma – I have extensive experience practicing a proven technique called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This has been shown countless times to immediately and permanently relieve emotional pain.
What is unique about my approach however is that I take full advantage of its potential efficiency. In other words, I apply the technique as quickly as possible.
Where many other therapists prefer to wait several sessions and apply it as an adjunct to therapy, I apply it safely at the beginning to the most problematic aspect of your suffering. This helps us to thereafter approach your present issues from a fresh, relatively pain-free perspective. It frequently even solves the present issues!
From “Stuck” to “Unstuck” as Fast as Possible
Imagine for just a moment the things that have you “stuck.”
Now imagine a new approach to life being “unstuck.”
The skillful and proper application of EMDR, along with your willingness to get better, makes this all possible.
You bring your willingness to the table, and I bring all my skill and experience
About Ryan
I was born in Santa Rosa, California, the youngest of seven children. Among them is my identical twin brother, who was an instant and lifelong best friend. Although my father passed when I was 12, I knew him well – and his example of patience and kindness still guides me. My mother was a homemaker and very talented pianist that introduced me to music and whose motherly love and concern has grown right along with me.
My family moved to Utah before I can remember to take advantage of the quality schools. I grew up with a love of sports and could be found across the street from my childhood home playing with my twin brother, usually when I should have been practicing the piano.
At age 19, I left home for the first time to serve a two-year mission for my church. I spent that time in Austria, having learned a love of the language, food, and people. A couple years after my mission, I met my wife, a Louisiana native that introduced me to yet another culture that I have come to love (even during hurricane season). We spent three years near her home while I completed graduate training.
Back in Utah, we now have five little ones that are growing too fast, including four boys and one little princess – all moving in different directions. We love football and basketball, church, and movies, among other things.
And, so, my life is full with a busy family and an ever-evolving job full of challenging and beloved clients. I look forward to making you a part of my life!
